Hi everybody,
Breitling presents a new version of their excellent Transocean chronograph. No revolution, it is based on the original layout.
This limited edition features three differences: A Bicompax dial with rose gold sconces (the original version is Tricompax) and a back lid.
The dial looks beautiful, with delightfully vintage hues; it alternates cream and beige/almond green shades (judging by the press photos). The Bicompax version, even if it doesn’t feature a time totaliser, keeps with the vintage spirit, and the date is integrated in a classic way, at 6 o’clock.
This dial is therefore a success. One cannot say the same about the back lid. I’m allergic to this kind of presentation, which looks fake on a watch. Especially as the actual waterproofing standards require a closed back (sapphire on this model).
This unnecessary back lid increases the thickness of this chronograph by at least two millimeters. It unveils a superb sapphire case back which showcases a very nice B01 caliber.
My opinion is that you shouldn’t go for this watch unless you fall for the beautiful dial.
See you soon,
Pifpaf.
